This song was one I wrote and recorded on the same day during a hurricane in 2004 (Hurricane Jeanne I believe). Though the hurricane didn't directly hit Tampa, it was close enough that it was not a good idea to leave the house. Fortunately I didn't lose power that day, and spent some time that day recording a song that I came up with noodling around on my guitar. I started by recording a simple drum track, and then added the guitar and bass tracks.

It's a scratch recording I did with 2 tracks of guitar and 1 track of drums.

I recently found (freeware) software that can be used to practice the ability to recognize notes: Functional Ear Trainer. It works well and uses MIDI instruments for output. It is Windows-only, but apparently someone has had success running it under WINE.
